Make your own electric motorized longboard
It can reach speeds of up to 34 km / h and can travel up to 20 km on a single charge. The estimated cost is around 300 300 which makes it a good alternative to commercial solutions. Let’s get started!

In the first part, I will show you how to make a motorized longboard yourself. The process is rather simple but you can always get an already complete board from your favorite vendor. The procedure for connecting motors and electronics remains the same.
Should I buy an electric skateboard? Are they worth it?
If you’ve ever been to a big city, you’ve probably seen an electric skateboard at some point. Or maybe you saw one in a YouTube video, or a friend told you about them Regardless of the way you hear about electric skateboards, you are here to answer a question I asked myself long ago: Should I buy an electric skateboard? Are they worth it?
What is an electric skateboard? How do they work?
A rider controls movement just like they do with a regular longboard (tilting the heel or toes and shifting the body weight to move the board in a certain direction). It can have different ranges depending on the battery life and can last from 10 miles to 60 miles (16 km – 97 km). Some boards even come with rechargeable batteries that can be replaced, which can extend the range with one move. Advantages of electric skateboard
This may sound like an obvious pro, but it’s very true. Extremely fun to run on electric skateboards. Although I personally use my board primarily for transportation, sometimes I go for rides just for fun. Just the other day I took my board to the beach as a break from work. As I passed by, I overtook all the other people in it. Jaggers, bikers, and even other skateboarders fell to the ground as I happily climbed the coast. Sometimes I would run up a hill, but my skateboard would easily climb it. But when I thought of a response, I left long ago.
Depending on how you ride, electric skateboards can be a great source of exercise. When you ride, many muscles in your core and legs are activated to keep your body on board. And if you feel like you want one more challenge, you can always push your board like a regular skateboard with your feet. The weight of the board itself will give you a great leg workout when carrying it.
Reduce your carbon footprint
If you’re worried about your carbon footprint, an electric skateboard is a great way to reduce it. Since they require significantly less energy, they are better for the environment than driving. You don’t even have to worry about gas, which is a big plus for me.
Cons of electric skateboard
Now that we’ve outgrown the advantages of electric skateboards, we’re starting to move on to the disadvantages. One of the major problems with e-boards is that they are not universally valid. Since electrical boards are relatively new, there is no general consensus on whether they should be allowed. As they grow in popularity, I’m sure this will change, but for now, depending on where you live you may need to follow some guidelines and regulations. In California, for example, you must be 16 years of age or older and you must wear a helmet. Also, you are not allowed to ride a bike for more than 15 miles (24 km / h). Many countries are still finding ways to control electric skateboards, so I must look at your local laws before buying your first board. See our Guide to Electric Skateboard Law on Regulations for more information.
They need a place to charge
The last confirmation of electric skateboards is that they will need to be charged somewhere. When your board runs out of battery it can be hard to find a place to plug in your board. This has mostly been a problem for me when I try to go on long rides. Typically, the boards last about 3 hours, depending on the terrain you climb. If you are really afraid of this happening, you can plan ahead and figure out where to charge your board. And if you plan to go on a long ride, you might even consider buying a board with a replaceable battery.
The cost of owning an electric skateboard
You may be wondering how much an electric skateboard costs. Nowadays they can range from $ 200 to 000 3000 + depending on the quality of the company and the board. The price, of course, depends on the materials used for the board (upper edge or lower edge) and the board’s own characteristics. I will explain the different types of skateboards and their price range later in the article, but for now, you should know that they can be quite expensive.
